Olive Tree Foundation USA Trips to Israel
Dr. Tony Crisp, President of True Life Concepts Ministry, formed The Olive Tree Foundation USA to help complete his mission to call the body of Christ back to contextual Bible study. The purpose of The Olive Tree Foundation USA is to provide funding for Christian leadership to study the Bible in its historical, geographical, linguistic and cultural context in the USA and the Bible lands and provide the study tools that aid in such study.
“I believe this new foundation will usher in a return to our Hebraic/Judaic roots and perspective in the American church,” said Crisp.
The Olive Tree Foundation USA facilitates a movement of evangelical pastors and students traveling to Israel to tour and study for 10 days. The trip is at “no cost” from New York, New Jersey or other similar USA departure points for qualified participants.Part of the inspiration for the formation of the foundation came from the late Dr. H. Leo Eddleman, Criswell Bible Institute (now Criswell College) professor and Dr. Crisp’s teacher. He championed the concept that few Bible teachers and seminary leaders have emphasized and taught since his passing. Eddleman said, “I can teach a pastor more in one week on-site in Israel than I can in the best seminary in America in a full year of study.” There is no substitute for learning about a subject on site, in the context where it happened. For one to see the sights, smell the smells and hear the sounds are of prime importance for which there is no equal.
The foundation requires each participant to make a commitment to take the comprehensive “Holy Land Bible Study Course.” The course is available online, or in module format. The textbooks are designed to maximize the learners experience while on-site in Israel.
The participants in the “Holy Land Bible Study Course” have preparation assignments and responsibilities before going, while in the land and upon returning to the USA.
The first group of participants is Senior/Lead/Teaching Pastors. Pastors are the key to the churches. These pastors are the God-given and recognized Bible teachers of the churches. Any movement that is to succeed in getting people in American churches back to contextual Bible study must begin with the pastors. Most evangelical pastors have never been to Israel. The pastor completes the course while on the trip and receives a “Holy Land Bible Study Course” Certificate or Certified Teacher’s Diploma while in Jerusalem. The pastor, upon returning to his church in America, is committed to teaching the Holy Land Bible Study Course to his congregation.
The second group of participants is Bible Students in Colleges, Universities or Seminaries. Bible students (ages 18-26) are the key to the future. While Pastors are the key to the American churches of today, the Bible student is the key to the future and coming generation. All students receive the same certificate or diploma received by the pastors.
