Tony and Karen Crisp live in Knoxville, Tennessee in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. They recently moved to a wonderful neighborhood near their son, Joshua, and his family. They have joined First Baptist Church in Morristown, TN and are blessed every time they are able to attend and hear their pastor, Dr. Dean Haun. He is a great expository preacher and the Crisps love the people in Morristown.
Karen is a licensed massage therapist and just started working out of the office of Tennessee Occupational Health in November 2011. She loves spending time with their grandchildren and traveling with Tony. Karen is "Mimi" and Tony is "Poppy" to the entire family now. "Grandparent-itis" has definitely infected the family. Karen travels with Tony on many occasions as he ministers, serves and teaches pastors. Karen ministers to the women and encourages them. Being a pastor's wife is like no other experience on earth and sometimes they are the forgotten people. Karen makes sure they are not overlooked in being encouraged and strengthened.
The children are all blessed and serving the Lord in different places and in different ways.
Joshua, 32, is the Southern US Regional Director for Trinity Care of Houston, Texas. His office is at Trinity Hills Senior Adult Community on the campus of Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. The Lord blessed Joshua and Lauren with another beautiful, healthy baby boy in 2011. Judah McGuire (Tony's Grandmother who raised him was Clara "McGuire") was born on November 9 and is doing great! Big brother Joel, who will turn three in February 2012, is a big help and loves his brother. Lauren also helps with TLC Holyland Tours in the office part-time.
Their daughter, Charity, and her husband, Jeremy, were blessed with a beautiful baby in February 2011. Autumn Faith is a happy and healthy baby girl! Jeremy and Charity live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area where Jeremy works with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. He preaches all over the state of Texas and is earning his second doctorate, a PhD in North American Missiology, at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina. He previously earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Liberty University. Jeremy is also an adjunct professor at Liberty University (online) as well as a resident professor at The Criswell College in Dallas, Texas. Charity is working as a surgical nurse with one of the Baylor Hospital surgical units near their home in Ft. Worth. You can keep up with them at www.JeremyRoberts.org.
Jonathan, their youngest son, graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in Aerospace in December 2010 and served as a professional pilot until October 2011. After much prayer and seeking the face of God, he has taken another opportunity with a major company in the US that allows him to have more time to serve the Lord in a greater way and fulfill God's purpose in his life. He is presently in the corporate training program with Abercrombie & Fitch and will be working in the Green Hills area of Nashville, TN.
Please pray for the Crisp family and Tony's work at True Life Concepts Ministry. His goal is to get God's people studying the Bible in its historical, geographical and contextual setting. This "not for profit" institute is being developed for training God's servants who teach and preach the Word of God to do it better! Part of the development process is creating tools that will aid those who are studying there and those who will never go to experience as much of the land as possible visually! "A picture is worth a thousand words" usually, but in this case the value of the pictures are inestimable! Evangelical leadership cannot continue to be trained the same way it has in the past! Fresh, new, exciting ways are needed to apprentice upcoming leaders. This is part of that "new" process of doing the "clinical" mentoring of men and women of God. Preachers will love the Lord Jesus more, preach better, serve better and become more effective tools in telling people about the God of the Bible, the Lord Jesus Christ.Tony asks that you pray for God's anointing and good hand to rest upon him and that God would fill him with His Spirit to accomplish His Good Work that He has begun. Second, pray that God would give clear priority and direction at every level of His plan and that the strategic people, institutions and ministries that He wants involved would be moved to partner with Tony for this vital work. Finally, pray that God would supply every need in every realm: spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically and financially to honor His Name. Please pray for the thousands who will be trained to influence this and the next generation of Christian leadership.
